Welcome back to 3 Words 1 Story!
Today’s words: restored – express – heat
We met in the express line; he had one item and I had four. He looked like he was in a hurry, but maybe it was just the heat. I was captivated by the way the sunshine caught his light blonde hair, even more taken by the gleam of bright blue eyes. He wasn’t my usual type, but there was no harm in looking. It’s not like I was going to say anything to him.
With that in mind, I turned away and saw that there was an empty till. I took one step before I looked back at him.
“Hey, do you want to pay with me? I’ve only got four items and you look like there’s somewhere you need to be?”
For a brief moment he eyed me curiously before his face split into a wide grin, eyes so bright that it’s as if I was being warmed by an actual ray of sunshine.
“That would be great.”
We paid in silence; the lady serving seemed to be grumpy, not that I blamed her. I was sweaty and irritated just from navigating through a maze of stupid customers. I imagine it must be worse to have to sit there and serve them all day.
After we left the store, I handed him his strawberry and blueberry cheesecake and he smiled again.
“Thank you for restoring my faith in humanity,” he said, eyes crinkling at the corner.
“Thank you for being hot.”
I didn’t mean to say it out loud, but he didn’t seem offended, nor did he appear to be letting it get to his head.
“I am pretty hot,” he agreed, “what with the weather and all. You wanna maybe grab a cold drink?”
Technically, I had a date with Mr Clean back at my house, but what the hell, there was always time for cooling off with a hot guy.
I said yes.
So, if I do meet Chris Hemsworth and fall in love with him it definitely won’t be a meet-cute. I don’t even like meet-cutes. And also why am I writing non-fanfiction romance all of a sudden? Somebody help me please.
