Day 23 – 30 | Gratitude Challenge

This is my last post for the Gratitude Challenge. I said I’d be positive and do it for Lent, and I have!

23. Peace

25. Intention

Sometimes, people do have good intentions but they go about in the wrong way. From a gratitude perspective, I guess it’s good to have someone that cares. However, sometimes, it comes across in a different way.

Laugh. Smile. Hope.

Day 16-18 | Gratitude Challenge

My answers are getting shorter, but I’m still trying to keep it positive!

16. Something that makes you laugh

Bad Lifetime Movies! I have an odd sense of humour. I tend to amuse myself so I guess I’m the something!

17. Something that makes you smile

…hmm. I guess schmoopy, romantic stories. Usually in a this is so cringe but I’m smiling anyway kind of way, but hey, it all counts. Actually good stories make me smile. I like it when you read something and it takes you out of the present and into a rich world of well written characters.

Is that cliché? Oh, well! Friends make me smile too! Most of the time.

18. Something that fills me with hope

Nothing? Well. People uplifting themselves from misfortune gives me hope. Not the made for internet consumption stories that you see now a day, but the real stories. If one person can turn their life around, we all can.

Texture. Colour. Smells.

Days 12-14 of the gratitude challenge!

12. Texture

What now…okay, so. I’ve got nothing. I like the texture of…

I seriously have nothing. Uhm. Wait. CAKE. I like the texture of cake. Well, I like cake. And therefore, I like the texture of the sponge when it’s baked right. Particularly when it’s soft and light. And fluffy. I think I just described a body sponge but y’all know what I mean.
I’m immensely grateful for cake. If I’m not married by 35, I’m gonna get hitched to a 33-tier Vanilla sponge.

Something like this but BIGGER!

13. Smells

Baking. Fresh flowers. Shower gels. I like pretty smells. Simple ones. Our sense of smell is linked to our happiness in a way. We’re not happy when we smell something awful but something that smells great always makes us pause. It’s like a little pocket of happiness. A teeny, weeny one but one all the same!

14. Colours

Red. Purple. PURPLE. I love green, red, black, blue but purple has my heart. I always buy purple accessories and everything. Everyone knows that purple is my thing. I don’t know. I feel like purple reflects who I am? That’s corny but that’s the only way I can describe it. I feel like I’m slightly better than those people who love pink. Purple is edgier, lol! I kid, I kid. I am grateful for purple because I love looking at it. All shades!

Technology. Quiet. Noise.

This is Days 9, 10 and 11 of the Gratitude Challenge

9. Technology

Where would we be without the the good old world wide web? Our phones. Laptops. Tablets. Even self service checkouts in stores. Medical technology, irrigation technology, all sorts. Technology has definitely given us a better standard of living. While some of it seems to have a negative effect on society, the good outweighs the bad.

10. Quiet

Quiet. Tranquility is something we all need. For me, mine is when I’m walking home from the station. It’s quiet and peaceful and there’s no one else around. It gives me time to just think and reflect on the day. I’m thankful for that.

11. Noise

To contrast, noise is something I need sometimes. Too much quiet can turn into something else for me. I usually counteract that with music. I love music. It can be anything. Sometimes it’s emotional songs that speak to me, other times it’s upbeat jams that I can move to. I think we all need that variety.
